Dear Tullia

I would just like to try to put anyone's mind at rest that might be thinking of having a Gastric band procedure with french cosmetics surgery.

I recentrly had a gastric bank procedure and could not fault the care and kindness of putting myself in their hands.

I was on own so was abit worried about how I would cope but I had no need to worry.

From getting picked up at the airport to being taken to the hospital to the care and support in hospital and afterwards. I found everyone showed kindness and care towards me.

You will be in safe hands at every point of your journey and adventure.

Weight Loss Tips That Anybody Can Use

Keep up to date with all of the latest information on Gastric Band surgery at

Not liking your current weight is perfectly normal. It is rare to find someone who is one hundred percent happy with the number that appears on the scale when they weigh themselves. The key is to approach your own weight loss with the right mindset. Fad diets are not the way to go--they don't help you lose weight (and weight you do lose won't be kept off for long). A negative attitude is not going to be helpful at all if you want to lose weight. Do your best to keep a positive though process flowing and use these tips to help you lose weight. Also, in case you're interested, an effective way to lose weight naturally is with the Turbo Fire Review highly recommended.

Take progress pictures. You probably hate the idea of having a "before" photo. Take at least one picture anyway. Take photos at least once a week as you work on your weight loss program. You want to have more than a "before" and "after" photo. You need pictures to document your progress. This will help keep you inspired to keep working on your weight. Staying with a weight loss program is easier if you can see the results as they are happening. Sometimes what we see in the mirror is not enough. We often use the photos for comparison purposes so that we can see exactly how well our current weight loss program is working.

The word "diet" should not be used in relation to your new eating habits. Instead, call it "making healthy choices" or something like that. Using the word "diet" often feels negative. You are far more likely to resent your new eating habits if you call them "dieting" than if you call them "making healthier choices" or "eating organically." Instead of using negative images to describe your new eating habits you positive and action based words for your descriptions. This will make you feel more proactive and you will have an easier time describing your efforts to people who might be wondering why you are suddenly eating different things (or not eating as often).

Balance is something you need to practice. There are plenty of different (fad) diets that will encourage you to cut whole types of foods from your diet. Most of these fad diets want you to cut out carbohydrates which isn't a good idea. The fact is that your body needs carbohydrates for energy. The trick is to consume carbohydrates in moderation. Don't be taken in by diets that tell you that you need to eliminate whole portions of a balanced diet if you want to lose weight. To stay healthy a balanced and nutritious diet is important. Anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is a fake.

Everybody is worried about weight loss. Think about it: how many people do you know that are on a diet right now? How many of the people that you know are unhappy with their weight? That should show you that you aren't alone when you worry about how much you weigh. It is important that you approach your weight loss the smart way. You need the right mindset if you want to have success with your weight loss efforts. Hopefully these tips will have helped you get started. Last but not least, remember to check out our full TurboFire review.

Gastric Band Testimonial from Diane Newton for Tullia Law

Testimonial For Tullial Law

dated 23 Nov 2005

Dear Tullia,

I am writing following my ‘Tummy Tuck’ operation
.
The consultations on 23rd November 2005 were conducted in a friendly and professional manner. Both Doctors* were very understanding when discussing the proposed tummy tuck and liposuction Every aspect was talked about and I was immediately put at ease.

It was apparent that the doctor was very experienced in this kind of operation having some thirty years experience this kind of plastic surgery. He showed a compassion, and knowledge that was very important to me.

The operation took approximately two hours and I was back in the ward by midday which was very satisfactory. By late afternoon both Doctors visited me to check on my progress and both spent a good amount of time assuring both my husband and I of my progress and giving us all the necessary advice.

In all I spent four nights in hospital and all the nurses were very professional and kind. The Doctors visited me every day before my departure to England which was very assuring. Also my husband and I spent those four nights in a large bedroom and all meals were brought to us.

So finally I would like to thank wholeheartedly those Doctors for such a personal and professional approach to changing my profile. They both had the perfect bedside manner and caring attitude which I so appreciated.

I would also like to thank all the nurses and staff at the Clinique who were so dedicated to looking after me. There cheerfulness bedside manner and professionalism were really apparent.

Tullia, can I also thank you for all the help and advice you gave us during all of this time. Could you kindly please translate my comments into French and pass them on if you will to all the doctors and nurses involved.

Diane Newton

Gastric Band and Other Obesity Surgery Options

Obesity is generally speaking recognised as when someone is around 100 pounds over his or her ideal body weight. An Obese person can also be expressed as a someone with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 to 40 or More.

Procedures for the patient are recommended by a bariatric surgeon at your first consultation. He will ten consider all the factors in accordance to your health, your weigh, and your attitude. There are some other health factors which may also be taken in to account known as co-morbid factors. These include high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and sleep apnoea. In general terms the more weight the person has to lose, the more radical the operation.

During the last ten years or so many techniques for weight loss surgery have been developed or perfected. The two most commonly known of these are gastric banding and gastric bypass surgery. There has recently been two new additions to this list which are known as the gastric sleeve (sleeved gastrectomy). and the gastric balloon

Gastric Band and Other Obesity Surgery Options

What is Obesity?

Obesity is broadly speaking characterised as being when a person is approximately 100 pounds above the ideal body weight. This can also be determined as a person with a  body mass index (BMI) of 35 to 40 or above.

The best procedure for the patient will be recommended by your bariatric surgeon at the first consultation who will consider all of the factors according to the general health, the weigh, and the attitude of the person. There are certain health factors which will always be taken in to consideration which are known as co-morbid factors which will include high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and sleep apnoea.  In general terms the more weight the person needs to lose, the more radical the type of operation.

Obesity Surgery Options

During the last ten years or so many techniques for weight loss surgery have been developed or perfected. The two most commonly known of these are gastric banding and gastric bypass surgery. There has recently been two new additions to this list which are known as the gastric sleeve (sleeved gastrectomy). and the gastric balloon

Gastric band Surgery

The gastric banding operation involves surgically placing a small adjustable silicone lap band around the upper part of the stomach creating a reduced stomach upper pouch area which restricts the volume of food which the stomach can accept at the time of eating.  This reduces the overall amount of food that the person can consume at any one time. The main advantages of gastric banding include a minimally invasive procedure, a shorter hospital stay, a faster recovery period, and the ability for ongoing adjustments to the band by filling the band with a saline solution which is an easily managed procedure which can be done at regular intervals by the surgeon, or a qualified nurse who has been specially trained to conduct this type of procedure.

Gastric Bypass Surgery

A gastric bypass  is a more radical surgery and has the additional advantage that there will be a more significant weight loss accomplished in a shorter period of time. However the main disadvantages of gastric bypass surgery is that this is a much more invasive surgical procedure, generally requiring at least three days hospitalisation, a higher risk of mal-absorption problems and the possibility of vitamin deficiency.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery

A gastric sleeve operation is executed by excising a fairly large portion of the stomach thereby reducing and reshaping the stomach into a banana shaped pouch. The disadvantages with this  procedure are that it is not as easily managed afterwards, but generally gives a speedier loss of weight.

Gastric Balloon Surgery

There is now a  further development which is known as the gastric balloon which is inserted inside the patients stomach thereby reducing the inner volume of the stomach. The Balloon can be adjusted by the volume of inflation of the balloon. This method is still in its early stages of development at the time of writing this article.
The main result of each of these operations effectively results in a smaller stomach. A reduced stomach not only restrict the volume of food the stomach can accept at any one time, it will also send a subliminal message to brain that the stomach is already full and therefore no further food is called for.

Post Surgery Considerations and Expectations
In many cases after a year has passed the patient will have lost a considerable amount of weight if they have followed the recommendations of the surgeons, have followed a stick diet which will have been recommended by a nutritionalist following surgery, and there have been no other complications.
Depending on the amount of weight loss it is quite common that a person may need further cosmetic surgery to remove access skin or re-shaping of the body mass. The most common of these include a thigh lift, tummy tuck (panniculectomy), complete body lift, a breast lift, breast reduction or an arm lift (brachioplasty).
Any major weight loss procedure normally improves dramatically the self image and self esteem of the patient, an improvement in lift style, quality of life and the most beneficial of is an increased life span.
