Causes Of Obesity And The BMI Index

People these days are much more busier these days to even think about their health and get rid of the extra fat they gain daily. This is specially the case with many Americans. It is understood that they go through severe stress and sadness with a body mass index of well over 30.

There are many categories for causes of obesity. How often have you seen skinny and thin type of people gaining weight within couple of months and become extremely fat. This is highly possible due to the medication given to a person to diagnose another illness, hence the effects of it will cause a high acceptability of gaining more calories.

One of causes of obesity is the genetic influence. Some people tend to get it from the family. This kind of obesity is hard to deal with since our body becomes more available for food from the birth.

Many Americans and medical professionals in the country are still not willing to take obesity seriously. In many documentary programs you still can see that the overly weighed people been taken in to as a matter of humor. This is after not knowing the serious problems it could cause to the individual. High blood pressure, hardness of breathing and also high sugar level is all vulnerable to a person with obesity.

The advertisements done regarding the fast food will tempt many people with their busy schedules to go for it. These fast foods will have excessive levels of fat causing many undesirable effects. As the food organisations in USA or the medical governing bodies not willing to take their steps in to this matter, it is unlikely to be solved in the near future.

The simple definition for the causes of obesity is fairly straight forward. You gain weight when you gather more calories than what you dispose. Fast foods and very less exercises cause almost 6 million Americans to be overly weighed and have problems with their health. Easier ways to get rid of your excessive fat quantity would be to do simple exercise which involves several day to day activities.

A resisting force should be put in by you to prevent all the causes of obesity. After all it is about living a better and a longer life.

BMI Clalculator
Are BMI Clalultor Results Important?

The BMI index was inadvertently created between 1830 and 1850 by the Belgian polymath Adolphe Quetelet. They were in the process of developing “social physics” and realized they could now calculate body mass. Using a BMI clalculator didn’t become popular until the early 1950’ and 60’s. It was about this time that obesity started to become more discernible. As Western societies became more prosperous so did our waistline. That’s when BMI index started assigning numeric measurements to a person’s “fatness” or “thinness.” This system provides the medical profession with a yardstick to discuss weight related problems with their patients. When a persons body masses is broken down in these simple terms it makes it easier for the patient to understand its relevance.

The BMI index is broken down into four main categories. Each category is represents a level of morbidity and mortality data or health risk. If the BMI clalultor reads lower than 18.5 you’re considered underweight,  if it reads between 18.5 to 25 you are at an optimal weight; if the BMI clalultor reads 25 to 30 your are overweight,  if it reads 30 or above than you are considered obese (over 40 morbidly obese).  Patients that score above a 30 are a major concern of the medical profession. Studies have shown that being obese can have an effect on your overall health. These same studies show how obesity is shortening our average life span.

Since the medical profession has been able to link the two together they have gone on a crusade to teach people how they can change their lives. That being obese doesn’t have to be a death sentence. It all starts with the smallest of changes. First, go to you’re my doctor and have him use his BMI clalultor to determine which category you fall into. If you’re on the heavier side of the scale, you’ll want to talk to him about your options. We all know that eating right and exercising is the main component. However, this isn’t the easiest route for most American’s to take. Doing a fad diet of trying to find a magic pill is usually only a temporary fix. You’re talking about the rest of your life, so when you sit down with your doctor ask him about all the options available to you. That may include some uncomfortable choices, but change can also be very beautiful.

The Article should explain why the BMI index is used to determin if a person is overwieght obese or extremely obese etc. the results are used by Gastric Band surgeons to determin if a client qualifies for surgery with a BMI of 35 or higher.

BMI Calculator and the Electronic Babysitter (The TV)

BMI Calculator and the Electronic Babysitter (The TV)

Due to our lack of foresight we have created a generation of obese children. My daughter came home from school yesterday and asked what a BMI Calculator was and is it something for the fat kids in my school? That stopped me in my tracks. I asked her where she heard that term, and she said from her teacher in school.

Just because the BMI Calculator says that your child is obese doesn't mean they have to remain that way. It's time for us to get our child involved in activities that interest them. Time to limit the amount of time they spend in front the electronic babysitter (the TV). Yes, this may cost you more money now; however, it's better than paying for some form weight loss program or surgery later.
